LAUNCH UPDATE: February 24, 2005

Since launching in Feb 2005 the owner has logged over 3600 n miles in a little over a year. Cruising speed is 8 to 9 kn. but long runs are at 1500 rpm giving 7.5 Kn. with fuel consumption under 1.8 gph.(2.16 g/hUS).

Previous site details about the Offshore 45 development:

• Build Start 2003.
• This is a new design with its heritage closely connected to our commercial boats.
• Characteristics: comfort, seaworthiness, endurance, and predictability.
• Power is by a single 225 hp diesel to give a maximum speed of 9 knots and a range of 3200 n.m. at 6.5 knots.
• The standard cabin styling is the `trawler' format. For something a little different the optional `tug' style wheelhouse (vertical front) is available.
• Another option we are examining is the hull construction in steel but to maintain favorable stability and weight, the superstructure would be of aluminum.
